About Adelium

Maintaining accuracy while translating scientific or medical texts and patents is a specialist area in the translation market, which relies strongly on experience in these fields. But translating technical texts is just as demanding. To grasp an authors meaning and re-ensemble it in another language is a skill on its own.

The Adelium translation service can provide fast, professional and reliable translations of your scientific texts, be they from journals, papers, non-fiction books, magazines or websites.

All translations can be made in standard PC or Mac formats, with CAT Tools and, of course, on plain paper. Express service is possible on request.

About Adelheid McLean

Adelheid McLean, founder of the Adelium translation service, is a native German speaker, but grew up in an English speaking surrounding and, since 2009 has been working regularly with a Canadian author of language courses.

Her science skills are based on her studies of chemistry at the Technical University of Berlin and the Dublin City University (Ireland).
Through working on projects for the Federal Institute for Material Research and Testing and the German Aerospace Centre as well as her studies, Adelheid McLean developed an intuitive way of bilingual working in natural science. Since the beginning of her work as a translator Adelheid McLean managed not just the translation of a manual for a partical accelerator but also the translation of subtitles of a documentary. Whether it be literature or natural science texts or medical studies, diversity is important for Adelium and Adelheid McLean.

Since 2016 we also started translation chemical, biological and medical patents from Englisch into German. Although this rather difficult merger of two very different fields presents a lot of challanges, we were able to gather the necessary experience to deliver high quality translations in good time.

In 2020 she received the Qualifications Level 7 Diploma in Translation, issued by the Chartered Institute of Linguists, the pre-eminent professional membership body for linguists in the UK.
